When you’re pregnant, there’s so much information to take in. What to eat, what not to eat and the best vitamins to take. On top of all that you may have nausea and vomiting to contend with. One of the weird annoying symptoms I had was restless legs and insomnia. Did you know that low magnesium is often the culprit for restless legs? Why not try a relaxing bath soak with magnesium mineral bath flakes followed up with a magnesium body lotion on the legs for the maximum chance of a good night’s sleep.

Folic Acid and Pregnancy

The current recommendation for women trying to conceive is 400 micrograms (mcg) per day until you are at least 12 weeks pregnant. If you weren’t planning on being pregnant, then take it as soon as you find out. This is the optimum level to help prevent neural tube defects in the growing baby. You can take them as a single supplement or as part of a multivitamin.

Having an oral folic acid spray is much nicer than big tablets, and the absorption rate is much faster.

Vitamin D and Pregnancy

All adults, including pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, need a minimum of 10mcg of vitamin D. During the months of September and March, it is recommended to take a daily supplement when you are pregnant. Vitamin D helps regulate the amount of calcium and phosphate in the body, which is needed to keep bones, teeth, and muscles healthy.

Isn’t folic acid bad (cause autism) and folate from food is best, but thanks for the right mcg recommendation

No, folic acid does NOT cause autism, autism is a genetic neurodivergence. Folic acid supplements are the same as what you can get from food.
