Growing a business is never easy. Sometimes it’s impossible, other times large risks are involved. This year hasn’t really been the best year for growing businesses either due to the coronavirus pandemic destroying businesses across the world. Of course, some are affected more than others. For example, the travel industry and the hospitality industries are two of the most impacted ones. Unfortunately, this doesn’t look like it’s letting up due to the severity of the second wave. But, if you’re based online, there may be a lot of opportunity to grow. With people trapped at home, in their houses, shopping is one of the better outlets especially if their local physical shops are shut down or they’re feeling nervous about going out.  Here are some top tips to get you started.

Visibility Means Everything

Think about a physical location. Where they are means everything. Do they get a lot of footfall outside the shop? Does the shop look enticing in terms of its frontage? Bright colours and well designed. You need to apply the same logic to your online presence…and that means you need to attract people to your website. There are people who can help you with this, there are ppc services or SEO services out there to take advantage of if you have the funds and the intent. However, for the start the website needs to be great. No point in attracting people to a website which doesn’t offer the best. Think of the landing page like your store window. It needs to be attractive. The pages need to link up nicely and flow logically otherwise people will get annoyed and it’ll hurt your reputation. Give it the attention it deserves.

Use Reviews To Boost Consumer Confidence

Reviews make a whole lot of difference. Think about your own buying experiences. Amazon used this extremely successfully. If you allow people to review your products the good ones will garner more sales. The issue is that they do have to be good ones. If they aren’t, it has a bad effect…but it does allow you to act on feedback, even if it’s negative. If the feedback is consistently negative you know you have a problem. Trying to use industry experts is a great way to increase visibility too, find people with good blogs or even physical magazines and give them a free product or service to review. If they reach their wide reader base with a good review it’ll certainly get more sales and at the worst, increase your profile.

Use The Power Of Social Media!

If you’re trying to grow your online presence, you need to use social media. So many people use it these days across the different providers that you’ll be doing yourself a disservice by not doing it yourself. Have a look at your competitors and see how they have constructed their social media presence. You don’t exactly have to copy them but you’ll be able to see what works well and what can be improved upon.
