Christmas Party Top Fashion Trends

Christmas party season is upon us and although covid is snapping at our heels, I for one am still keen to enjoy the festive season. I have a party to go to and I intend to dress up for the occasion. But what to wear? I have an outfit from two years ago that I could wear, but last time I wore it I ended up being boiling in the restaurant so I’m looking for something a bit lighter to wear but still festive and warm enough. It’s like Cinderella’s slipper, isn’t it? Let’s look at the options:

Sequins

Good old sequins for Christmas! You could go all out with sequin dresses, or if you want to be more reserved then go for a jumper or top with a sequin motif.

Catsuit

Instead of a dress this year, how about a catsuit? They are bang on trend and I find them so comfortable. The only issue is you have to practically get naked to go to the toilet and if you’re having a few drinks that can be quite often. The catsuit differs from the jumpsuit because it’s worn skintight rather than the looser jumpsuit. According to British Vogue, recent celebrity sightings suggest the A-list is replacing the party dress with the fashion catsuit this Christmas.

Metallic

Typically gold, silver, red, or green for the festive season, add a splash of metallic to your Christmas party outfit and you’re bound to be in style. A metallic camisole top under a blazer works well, or you can go all out with a metallic dress. If you like the style but don’t want to make too much of a statement, add a splash of metallic with a cute clutch bag.

Velvet

I adore velvet, and there are so many different ways to wear it. I have a velvet pleated skirt that I have my eye on with a grey sequinned top. You could wear a velvet jumpsuit, dress, top, jacket or trousers. It’s timeless and so great for Christmas parties. Just check where you are going and how warm it will be otherwise you’ll be sweating. Are you going to be dancing? Maybe a velvet scarf would be better.

Accessories

If you don’t want to buy a whole outfit, dress up your favourites with Christmas accessories, or just lots of sparkle and you’ll be the most festive one there.

What will you be wearing at your Christmas party this year?
