Making Jaw-Dropping Smoothies: The Secrets You Need to Know

Sharing is caring!

A lot of people like smoothies and drink them regularly. They’re a great way to ingest a lot of minerals and vitamins your body needs in a single meal. They are also relatively easy to make at home, and they’re good for picky eaters who don’t much enjoy fruits or vegetables if they have to eat them separately.

You can grab a blender and get started making smoothies at home at any time, but before you do, you may want to know what some individuals consider to be the key secret to making them as tasty and appealing as possible. We will cover that in the following article.

Getting the Consistency Right

First, it’s important to say that what seems like a perfect smoothie to one person might not necessarily be quite right for someone else. That is because each individual will have their own idea about the proper ingredients and taste. Even more crucial than that, though, according to most smoothie aficionados, is the consistency.

Obviously, if your blender has a smoothie setting, that is the right one to use. However, what if your blender or food processor does not have such a setting? That’s a trickier situation but not one that should worry you too much.

Start Low and Build to High

The secret to getting the perfect consistency for your smoothie, according to many experts who enjoy this option as a way of easily getting all of their nutrients, is to start with a blender or food processor’s low setting. Then, you can move on to the medium setting after a few seconds. You should conclude by moving the setting up to high.

That gives the smoothie a frothy texture that’s light yet satisfying. However, there’s one additional secret that you should know about if you’re ready to start getting some ingredients together to experiment.

The Five Parts Theory

Many people who love smoothies swear by dividing the concoction into distinct parts. The first part, which should equal one-fifth of the smoothie, should be an “accent” fruit or vegetable. In other words, it should lend the concoction its taste, but it should not be the primary taste you get when you take a sip.

Another ingredient should make up two-fifths of the smoothie. This should be a fruit or vegetable that you like, since this will constitute a large part of the finished product and it will lend it a great deal of flavor.

The final part should be liquid. That liquid can be something like coconut milk, nut milk, cow’s milk, water, etc.

Those five parts will make up a smoothie, and if you use the smoothie setting on your blender or food processor, you should have a satisfying meal substitute. You can also add something to give it an extra kick, such as a dash of vanilla powder, lime juice, cinnamon, or even hot sauce.

Since smoothies have so many different ingredients, you can keep experimenting until you create one you love.
