Thomas fever is still going strong in our house, he’s expanded to other TV programmes now though. Daniel, who’s 2 and a bit, likes fireman Sam, Teletubbies and a bit of Bing, Twirlywoos and Go Jetters. The little blue train is still his favourite character though. His Grandma found a whole series of Thomas books with all the different characters in them and he knows Percy, James, Henry and Gordon now too. I am saying yes to Thomas the Tank Engine reviews still, and this time it includes a giveaway for you too! These are brand new designs from Rainbow Designs and will be available from Tesco Direct. They are designed to be baby’s first Thomas toys and they’re soft, and super cute. I have a comforter and a soft toy to show you.
William is a bit jealous of the comforter – all my children have had a comforter of some sort, it really helps them feel safe and happy. William’s is a tiger design, Phoebe’s is a pink bear and Daniel has his Thomas one now, although he had a Peter Rabbit one, but he never really attached to it. I’m hoping he’ll form a relationship with this one. We call them ‘FuzzWuzzes’ in our house.
The comforter has a little miniature cuddly Thomas train at the top with a smiley face, and the bright blue is toned down to a more pastel blue. It doesn’t make any difference for babies’ vision to have bright colours or not, but I think people expect babies’ toys to have a more pastel feel. Then the blanket part opens out like arms, it’s really soft and has the Thomas train appliqued in the centre with a little green tree and the word ‘Thomas’. At the tail end is a red durable plastic train babies can use as a teether.
The cuddly Thomas is a friend they can tuck up with at night and carry round with them. Both toys would be a lovely gift for a new baby, especially from an older sibling who is a fan of the happy train. Daniel loves them.
