Having had a premature baby myself – my eldest was born at 32 weeks (read his story here), I know how important every little milestone is, and how they differ from the normal ones. Just getting out of the intensive care and into the special care cot was an amazing one, because you can finally dress them in the baby clothes you’ve lovingly been preparing. Or perhaps you weren’t expecting a premature baby and you’ve had to go and find tiny clothes to fit them! Nowadays there are more and more shops that do premature or early baby size, when William was born I think I had 2 shops and a small range (pun intended) to choose from. I’ll never forget those teeny tiny nappies I had to buy.
It was when I went home and we started our lives together that it became apparent he would develop differently to other babies his age. I found it hard when comparing, as I couldn’t help doing. I would have loved these premature baby milestone cards from Bliss, to celebrate those special milestones only a parent of a prem baby would understand. If you know somebody who is at high risk of having a premature baby or you are a parent of one yourself, enter the giveaway to win these special milestone cards and help support the charity Bliss. You can also browse and buy them via this link. Here’s some pictures of the cards in action.
