Can you wear a Jumpsuit over 40? Hell Yeah!

I hate those articles that say, 'Things you can't wear over 30,' 40 or 50, pick a number, they're there. I'm here to say, forget it! You wear what you like!

I hate those articles that say, ‘Things you can’t wear over 30,’ 40 or 50, pick a number, they’re there. I’m here to say, forget it! You wear what you like, if you look good and feel good, why not. It’s all about dressing well for your shape and age.

I am over 40, and a little overweight but I love fashion, colours and being creative with my clothes. I buy from charity shops, high street stores and the odd designer piece when budget allows. I’m a classic pear shape, and I have tried jumpsuits before but not found one that suited me. I discovered this lovely green teal coloured one from Simply Be, who have a lovely selection of flattering jumpsuits. The material is silky and soft, and it flows so nicely. The shape flows over my body like a river and really flatters my curves yet skims over my stomach. It’s so comfortable and perfect for the spring, with it’s angel sleeves and wide leg style which are bang on trend. I feel so confident in it. The jumpsuits are so versatile as well, you can dress it up or down. I’ll show you 2 ways you can wear it, and if I can rock a jumpsuit, you definitely can too.

Jumpsuit look number one – casual

For the casual look, I added a chunky brown plaited belt to cinch in the waist and teamed it with flat shoes. This look will take you from school run to lunch or playgroup and is just as comfy round the house.

Jumpsuit look number two – evening

Next I took off the belt and swapped the flats for silver strappy high heels to make it an evening look. Re do the make up and put your hair up and you get quite a different look.

The flat shoes are also from Simply Be (find them here), they give me some height with the white platform sole, and the leather detail adds a different level to the boring flip flop.

Finally,  I also had a weekend casual look. I chose these black velour trousers which are beyond comfortable, and I believe their purpose is for lounging. I am very good at that when I’m allowed. Matched with a sweatshirt with the motif #weekend, they go well together and get me in the mood for movie nights, takeaways, days out to the park and maybe even keeping fit! Also great for snuggles.

Disclosure: I was gifted the clothes for the purpose of this post. All opinions are my own.
