Our rather tired looking car seats were in need of replacing, so we took a look at various styles and decided to go for one that would be easiest for travel too. The CarGo seat is a booster seat that conforms to UK and EU safety standards (ECE R44/04) and is also a storage wheeled suitcase. The carry handle folds down flat and then becomes a booster seat and vice versa.
We’re looking forward to using them when we fly to Portugal next year, Phoebe and Daniel will use them as carry on hand luggage and then they will be in use for our hire car. It was very expensive to add on car seat hire to the car rental, so they are already saving us money, plus we will have peace of mind that they meet safety guidelines and have only been used for our own children.
They come in four different colours: blue, pink, green and purple. I went for the classic blue and pink. The children have road tested them and they love the colour, design and of course they are comfortable. Phoebe is thrilled to have her own little carry on luggage for all her special bits and pieces. Children have to be 125cm or taller to sit in a booster seat, and the weight limits are 22-36kg. You get 10 litres of storage inside the seat – plenty!
You don’t have to assemble it, and when changing from car seat to luggage you just need a tiny adjustment which is easy to do. Here are the booster seats in the car:
In this photo you can see the next stage in transformation, you can see from the pink one, the booster arms fold down into the seat, which you can see I’ve done on the blue one. You can also see the pull along handle which you then fold up.
In the below phot you can see the inside of the booster and how much storage space you get. The handle then folds out so they can wheel their ‘case’ along. The yellow button is a twist style button which locks the lid in place.
So you can see how it is in action. The cargo seat is made by a small business in the UK. For more information and to check prices, take a look at their website.
