Are you ready for the festive season? I am getting there slowly, I have started Christmas shopping, put up all my decorations, the fire is going and I have a cinnamon sugar candle burning. I have a few festive parties coming up and of course there’s the big day to dress up for. I have my trusty Christmas jumper, but that’s only going to get me so far.
I am collaborating with Yours Clothing again for festive party wear, the queen of curves for plus size fashion. Once again they have not disappointed. The only trouble I had was that my first two picks were out of stock so I had to choose again, so grab your favourites quickly.
Green velvet is big on trend this season, and I love wearing trousers rather than dresses for ultimate comfort, so I picked the green velvet wide legged trousers with elasticated waist. I paired them with the black glitter strappy body suit. If you are not keen on bearing your arms, you can pair it with a blazer or cardigan. I wore a velvet coat I already had in my wardrobe when I went out. A Christmas pair of candy cane earrings, silver shoes, and a statement necklace complete the first look. You can’t really see the colour and sparkle that well in the first photo, but you can in the close-up. Where’s my professional photographer? The trousers are soft and stretchy and very flattering.
For the big day, I am going big with this blue and copper glitter maxi dress. It is made of soft jersey so it’s comfortable for eating a big meal, the pleating detail at the front is very flattering and hides any expanding waistlines. I feel like a princess in it, and the family loves it, particularly my husband! I kept the accessories simple and fun because the dress speaks for itself. You could wear heels if you can cope with them, boots if you’re going to be outdoors at all and flats for indoors, or slippers for when you are slumped on the sofa after the big Christmas dinner!
