Count With Peppa Interactive Money Box Toy Review

One of my children’s favourite activities is taking their money boxes, tipping their pennies out and counting them back in. Daniel’s money box is one of those that you wait until it’s full and then you unscrew it… I didn’t notice that when I bought it online… We’ve moved on from watching Peppa Pig 24/7 but the characters remain a favourite in our house. I do find Peppa’s voice moderately annoying but it’s OK in small doses.

The Peppa Interactive Money Box Count With Me

The large plastic money box is shaped like Peppa Pig sitting down and holding a purse, which opens up to collect the coins. It comes boxed, it’s easy to unpack and it’s all put together, so it makes a good present to unwrap. You will need a small screwdriver like these  (or a sharp knife point which I do not advise but which I had to use because I had no screwdriver small enough) to unscrew the battery compartment, and then 2 AAA batteries. On Amazon it says batteries included but mine didn’t come with batteries, that may have been because it was a brand sample. Once the batteries were in Peppa starts chatting away. There are two modes, colours and numbers. The count with me money box has 8 different activities which encourage the child to look for different numbers, colours and pictures. Peppa recognises which coins have been inserted and responds accordingly. She also plays 3 songs from the show. You’ll be glad to hear it comes with a high/low volume setting. The recommended age is for 2 years and over. Daniel is 3 and a half and he loves it. The coins sometimes need a hard push to go into the slot and you need to get the right angle, but Peppa recognises each ‘coin’ and counts or says the colours correctly. He experiences a very high level of satisfaction when he has deposited all the coins as you can see from his little face as he shouts ‘Hooray!’

Each of the coins have a favourite character from the Peppa Pig TV show, a number and a colour, then on the reverse they have objects to the value of the coin. They are substantial coins of a decent size, so although they may end up on the floor they will be easily located. Once they are all in the purse, you can open it up and start again. It’s a good idea that they all fit in so they can be ‘tidied’ away at the end and put away easily.
