Dating your husband with Datebox: a review

how to to date night - midwife and life

It’s coming up to our 11th wedding anniversary in April, we’re still going strong despite the odds.  We’ve had our ups and downs of course but I feel really secure in our relationship now,  we are true partners.  We don’t like each other at times but we always love each other!  With three small children we’d of course like more quality time together rather than crossing eyes over holding down a squiggly pooey baby (who wouldn’t),  so how can we make time when there never seems to be any?

How Datebox can help you along on your date night

Datebox is a subscription box service that sends you out a box a month which includes a date activity with prompts and all you need for your date.  They provide questions to help you remember why you fell in love and to rekindle the romance.  Here’s a video of me taking a look in our box:

I’ve since figured out what the moustaches are for – they’re so you can pretend to be an Italian chef while you sling your pizza!

The instructions were easy to follow, and really, it’s not about the pizza is it?  It’s about making time for each other and I do need a prompt or two.  Otherwise I’m happy to let him cook, or if it’s my turn it’s usually convenience food.  Sometimes we’ll chat together over some nuts and a glass of wine (me) and a pint of cider (him), but that’s only if we haven’t got a baby attached to a boob (me).   The box contents vary, and they can be anything from cocktail making to a picnic in the park, or you can choose a theme.  They’re £19.99 plus postage.

My rather wobbly rolling out!

I managed to make it into a heart shape! Ahh, romance isn’t dead.

They tasted pretty yummy and we had fun making them.  We used the prompts and had fun reminiscing, although he couldn’t really remember what he first noticed about me, but he did remember what he asked me on trivial pursuit when we first met, I didn’t!

Happy Dating everyone, let me know your favourite date night activities!
