It’s National stationery week this week, and I don’t need an excuse for a new notebook or any new stationery. When I was at school there was nothing better than getting a new pencil case and pens. I love notebooks and planners in particular. The beautiful designs, crisp new pages that beg for ideas and your best pen to write with. I sleep with a notebook by my bed, in case ideas strike in the night, as they often do. There’s something about a new planner, or journal that shouldn’t just be reserved for a new year. When you start a new project or you need to brainstorm, what better way than with a new notebook. With the bullet journal rising in popularity, beautiful notebooks are everywhere. I love the feeling of taking pen to paper, despite writing a lot on the computer.
This week I’ve been so excited to take a look at some new designs from Doodle Collection. They’re an Indian company but available to buy on Amazon. What I liked about their range was the sheer volume of choice. They have so many categories to choose from. Diaries, planners, notebooks and journals in every style imaginable. You can get travel planners as well as notebooks in whatever style to match yours. It was so hard to choose, but I narrowed it down to three different styles, so I could show you some examples.
Firstly I went for the notebook and colour journal. I am not one for adult colouring books per se, but I really liked the idea of the two creatives mixing together. Often when I’m stuck for ideas, or talking to someone on the phone, I find myself doodling or colouring around the words. Here the two genres can merge together, so your practical work and lists can sit alongside beautiful pictures and splashes of colour. There’s also quotes in bright inspiring colours and fonts. All the pages are perforated too, meaning you can neatly pull them out and take them shopping, or frame the quotes if you like.
Next I wanted a quick ideas journal for those times when I just need to get the idea on paper quick, before it leaves my brain. That’s happened to me lots of times, and I don’t want to lose those fleeting flashes of inspiration. What better than the ‘Ideas’ book, perfect. I love the hot pink magnetic clasp around the book, and again the pages are perforated.
Lastly I just couldn’t resist the limited edition Tiger journal. It’s something a bit extraordinary. It’s from Doodle Collection’s Exquisite India range, which has specially crafted, limited edition premium diaries that have been illustrated by skilled artisans and rendered in a rustic golden glaze. The journal is larger than the others and has gold edge to the paper. There is a ribbon bookmark with a tiger foot attached and it comes in a beautiful presentation box with a separate Tiger paw print necklace. I think I will use it to write down all the special birthdays to remember and our family milestones. The first job will be to write my name in it to prove it’s mine.
