You know I love cleaning when I get going – I just don’t have as much time to dedicate to it as I’d like! We as a household are making more effort to be eco friendly. There are so many natural ways to clean and you can make your own cleaning products so easily. If you can’t, then choose eco-friendly cleaning products.
I’ve recently been introduced to Patterson’s, they provide eco-friendly cleaners for both commercial and household needs. You can purchase easily online and have peace of mind that you’re protecting the environment whilst you clean. Take a look at their eco cleaning hacks below:
If you don’t fancy making your own, make sure you look at the containers you’re using – are they recyclable? Can they be refilled? Are the ingredients sustainable and eco-friendly? I know, we don’t need another thing to feel guilty about, but if we all do a little bit where we can, it can make a big difference. Here are some great eco cleaning hacks I’ve found:
- Use vinegar on a cotton bud to clean in between the keys on your computer and remote control
- Keep a pot of bicarbonate of soda in the microwave and fridge to absorb odours
- For stain removal, use vinegar on a colour fast microfibre cloth, iron over it on the stain and it will lift away
- Make your own tumble dryer sheets by using cloths soaked in eco fabric conditioner, dry and toss in with your clothes
- Cut up old T shirts and clothes to make duster cloths
- Use half a lemon and a teaspoon of bicarb to remove water marks on your shower screen
- Mix up baking soda, citric acid and essential oils to use as toilet fizzers
- Cut up some lemon slices, place in water with a tablespoon of vinegar and put in the microwave for a few minutes, the steam will loosen all the grime and make cleaning a breeze. It smells amazing too.
- Use wooden scrubbing brushes
- Use glass refillable spray bottles like theses from Amazon to make up your surface cleaner
