Making bathtime fun (and safe) with TappySafetyToy

I was recently sent a little friend in the post to try out, his name is Tappy and he loves bathtime and making new friends.

I decided to use him firstly for my littlest one, Baby D who is 8 months at the time of the review, and then for my middle child Phoebe who is currently 4.  He settled right in to my bathroom and already was made to feel at home with the other toys.

Tappy is made from soft neoprene and will not go mouldy!  He attaches to any sort of tap with Velcro.  It is recommended to attach around the tap like this (left):

This worked well, but with my style of tap it could easily get pulled off, luckily the Velcro fastenings are very versatile and I was able to fasten it another way which was Baby D proof!

There is a youtube video which explains all you need to know.  Baby D loved having a pull on Tappy’s legs and when I poured water in Tappy’s mouth he delighted in the flow of water dripping down the legs.  We had great fun playing and baby D remained safe from the hot tap and any associated injury.

As you can see he also loved playing with the bath plug – that’s a whole other story…

Then it was Phoebe’s turn and she loved Tappy!  She’s 4 and loves using her imagination to play so Tappy got very involved this time.  I would definitely say he made a new friend!

We had fun counting Tappy’s legs, singing the rainbow song (we added white on to the song) and Phoebe made up her own song “Be an Octopus!” with accompanying dance featuring Ariel the mermaid.  Phoebe discovered Tappy could be a puppet too and we both had a giggle making him talk (and sing).

I’d say he’s great for younger children and babies to keep them safe from burns, drips and scrapes whilst providing a fun colourful toy and older children will love the character element.  The only thing is if you have single taps like me you will need two, for mixer taps you need one.

There are no nasties, he’s Phthalate-free and you can bung him in the wash at 40 degrees when needed.  At last, a bath toy that won’t go mouldy, especially if you’re like me and occasionally forget to drain the water until the next day!

To get your own Tappy, he’s available now from JoJoMamanBebe with FREE P&P!  Grab yours now.  You can also follow @TappySafetyToy on Twitter and join them on Facebook
