My 1st Years Christmas Event

my-1st-years-pr-event-midwifeandlife.com-christmas-gifts-children

Last week I was invited to attend an early Christmas party at Maggie and Rose in London’s Kensington by My 1st Years.  The company is owned by Jonny Sitton and Daniel Price who started it up 5 years ago and have seen it grow and blossom.  They sell baby and children’s items that are personalised with your child’s name.  I was nervous as it was my first time at an event like this as a blogger so I wasn’t completely sure what to expect!  I was made to feel really welcome and it really did feel Christmassy, there was a fully decorated tree with each child having their own stocking hung up ready for Father Christmas!  It was so lovely seeing Daniel’s stocking hanging up there, it’s going to be his first Christmas and it will be lovely to embrace him into the family festivities.

There were fairy lights strewn around and clothes hung up on pegs, toys you could play with, personalised story books and even Christmas stockings to colour in!  The children had a wonderful time and I could see there were a few firm favourites – the wooden kitchen, the buggy and the fire engine – I couldn’t get a picture of the fire engine without someone’s child wanting a ride!

My 1st years specialise in personalising quality toys, clothes and blankets, the blankets were super soft and would make a lovely new baby gift.  All the toys were of excellent quality and ones I would be happy to give or receive.  See here for my top picks from their range.

There was a lovely lady showing us how they personalise the dressing gowns, blankets and clothes with a magnificent sewing machine:

Of course, it wouldn’t have been a press event without some yummy food and drink!  The smell of fresh coffee and pastries permeated the air in the café style venue and there were some tasty treats to nibble on as we chatted and snapped our shots.  I met some lovely fellow bloggers, some I’d ‘met’ online, some I hadn’t.

There was a photo booth with props and I thought if I held up the Yummy Mummy Blogger sign it might make it the truth!  There was a prize for the funniest one but I’m not expecting the call any time soon.

The Christmas tree had presents underneath for all of us to our children, it was so exciting seeing them all laid out for us in the company’s distinctive duck egg blue colour.

My 1st years had also gone to the trouble of having cookies made with all our names on that we could take home – I’m saving mine to put on our Christmas tree when the time comes.

So what was inside my gorgeous gift bag?

A gorgeous snowsuit that’s soft and fluffy with Daniel’s name embroidered on  it, a vest with My first Christmas on it and a blackboard that you can stick onto the wall!  This was very popular with my 4 year old, Phoebe.  She loves drawing, hopefully she won’t start drawing on the walls again!

And Baby D looks super cute in his fluffy snowsuit complete with ears!

Oh, and as we were leaving, we were give a goody bag to take away, find out what was inside my bag here!  What do you like from the range?  I know what’s on my Christmas wish list, what would be on yours if money was no object?  I’d love to hear from you.
