Hands up who likes quality coffee? šāāļø We got given a slimline Nespresso machine a couple of years ago and itās been brilliant. High-quality coffee using coffee pods every morning. Thereās just one issue ā recycling. You can save up all the pods and post them back to Nespresso, but did you know thereās now an easier way to recycle? Rave Coffee have designed their Nespresso compatible pods so that they are completely compostable. You just pop them in the food recycling bin when youāre done.
Our thoughts on Rave Coffee Pods
The question is, how do they taste? Do they match up to the big brand? Itās a resounding yes from us. They offer different blends, so you can get your favourite flavour. We chose two different blends, the signature blend and the Italian job blend.
The pods come packaged in plain white foil lined packets, two to a box. The packaging can be recycled along with your paper and card recycling. Ordering is easy from the website, and you can buy in bulk.
The smell is delicious when you open the foil packet. I like the style of the boxes too, they say ādrink me,ā like in Alice in Wonderland.
We have tried some other Nespresso compatible pods, but these ones fare better on the taste test. Once you open the inner packet, it is recommended to drink within ten days. There is no issue with the machine compatibility, they work just as well. The pods are all white, so if you have more than one blend you might want to keep them in the box to differentiate.
About Rave Coffee
The environment and packaging are really important to me, but I also like to know where the coffee beans come from and if they are using fair trade. Hereās what Rave coffee has to say:
YourĀ Arabica beans areĀ selectedĀ on quality and cup characterĀ and are sourced from the worldās finest growing regions. We roast all day, every day, Mon to FriĀ and every batchĀ is freshly roastedĀ by hand to enhance and develop its natural flavour.Ā Ā
Our specialityĀ beans areĀ ethical and sustainable, paying a fair price to our farmerās is important to RAVE. Fair prices support their commitment and dedication to producing the highest quality speciality coffee cherries.Ā All of this means you are able to buy the best coffee beans online. We roast a range of blends, single estate, decaffeinated and organicĀ beans and you can sortĀ them below by your preferred brewing method. We also have subscriptions, pods andĀ raw green coffee for those interested in roasting at home.
So I am satisfied they are an ethical company, with the best interests of the environment at heart. You also save money, as they are cheaper than the Nespresso official pods. Prices range, but a box of 10 coffee pods in the signature blend costs just Ā£3.70 ā thatās about the price of one coffee in a coffee shop! The more you buy in bulk the better the savings.
What do you think? Would you give them a go?
I was gifted the coffee pods and have been compensated for my time in writing this post, all opinions are my own.
