As I get older I’ve noticed my teeth are harder to keep looking white, and stains build up from things like tea, coffee, certain foods and spices (I’m looking at you Turmeric). Smoking obviously stains teeth too, I don’t smoke anymore so that’s not a worry. I’ve tried whitening toothpastes but nothing more dramatic than that.
I’ve been wanting an electric toothbrush for a while, I’ve been happy with my manual brush and stubbornly thought it was enough. It still can be, but I tried out my husbands one and felt it would make a difference to my oral hygiene. Dentists do recommend an electric toothbrush if you can afford one, although manual brushing will do the job as well.

My thoughts on the Oral-B Pro 2500
I got the toothbrush in pink that comes with a travel case. The travel case is an opaque plastic case with space for the base and two toothbrush heads. You need to pack the charger separately. The main colour is white with a rubber pink stripe down the front. The heads are easy to change and attach. It has a circular head with a pink centre that is rubber, and the whole thing oscillates to brush your teeth and get in between the gums. The motor is loud but not overpowering. I like the feeling it gives and it makes my teeth feel clean. I think it is making a difference to the colour of my teeth they appear to have less staining, either that or it’s psychosomatic. It’s easy to charge, just plonk it on the charger. Mine came with a shaving plug, but we already had an adaptor. I find it needs charging every 3 days or so, the red light flashes and you know to charge it. I’d recommend it as a good standard electric toothbrush, it’s not too expensive and it looks good.
