Positive Changes You Can Make In 2021

Disclosure: collaborative post

After a year like no other, 2021 is one that is filled with hopes and possibilities. While January has not quite started in the way we would have hoped, with news of vaccines being rolled out, we all hope that the year ends in a much more positive way than the last one.

Whatever happens this year with regards to the coronavirus pandemic, we have to accept that we have very little in the way of control. We have to do what we need to do to keep ourselves and other people safe. However, what we do have influence and control over is the way we manage situations and how we can look at ways to become the very best version of ourselves.

Set some goals

Set your goals. Write  them down on a piece of paper. Specify the time period in which you want to accomplish them and start working on it within the specified timeframe.

Goals help to make you more focused and positive. They help you to determine your future by giving you something to work towards and make you a better person.

Try something new

To bring about a change to yourself, sometimes you have to try something new and a little bit out of your comfort zone. Make 2021 the year that you go ahead and do the thing that you have always wanted to do – it might be booking your place and start training for a marathon, it might be learning a new craft or a new language. It might be something as simple as dying your hair a different colour. If it scares you a little bit – do it. What is the worst that could happen?

Look after your body

You will find it much more difficult to make positive changes to your life and be the very best version of yourself if you are not taking care of your health and looking after your body. Eat well – a healthy balanced diet with at least five portions of fruit and vegetables a day, carbohydrates, healthy fats, and protein.

Aim to get at least thirty minutes of exercise in three times a week, It is also important not to forget aspects of your body such as your teeth – visit a dentist at least once every six months, your hearing – have it checked regularly and at the first sign of any issues and your eyesight – regular visits to the opticians to see if you need glasses or varifocal lenses. So don’t ignore that pain in your teeth any longer and fix that toothache with the Dentist in Las Vegas.

Practise gratitude

As a society, we have become more accustomed to criticising and complaining when we are not happy about something than praising and showing gratitude when something does go well and we are happy. Aim to have a day without complaining and instead, make an effort to praise someone for doing something well. It is something that is really simple to do and not only makes the person on the receiving end of the praise feel good, but it makes you feel pretty good too.
