I love an excuse to craft and create, so when Viking Stationery asked me to create something with their stationery supplies I needed no excuse. It also gave me time to do it instead of housework! This year it’s 400 years since the death of Shakespeare, and his work is ever popular. I asked over on my Facebook page for everyone’s favourite quotes and I wasn’t disappointed – thank you to everyone who had suggestions. I made a little vlog of me opening my craft box:
I decided against decoupage in the end, and I made a simple arrangement of quotes using the fine point sharpie and the gold metallic paint pen. I put it in a frame, I really like the effect and I enjoyed playing around with writing styles before I made the final print. I used the parchment paper to write my quotes on.
I couldn’t resist having a go with the beautiful golden quill, it turns out there’s a reason we don’t use them anymore, it’s really difficult to get the right amount of ink on it, it took me three goes to get the effect I wanted without splodges! I managed it though, and it produced a really authentic shakespearean look. I used the gold pen again to colour in the mini canvas, then I wrote the quote out on paper and stuck it on the canvas. I love it!
