Meet my new best friend, the Vax Air Cordless vacuum cleaner. He’s tall, slim and handsome. He doesn’t need wires or plugs, he’s very versatile and he comes apart. He even has a torch to light up the way and show me any bits I may have missed. His name is Phil. I love Phil. He’s different to any other vacuum cleaner I’ve had, he’s so much easier to use that he gets to come out of the cupboard more. When his battery runs out I just switch it over to his spare one that’s been charging. Battery powered vacuum cleaner I hear you ask? Oh, but they’re special ones, lithium ones – it’s all very futuristic. They just sit one on a charging pad in my cupbard, and one on Phil ready to go, giving us 50 minutes run time together.
How did our relationship start?
Our trusty old hoover was not so trusty. Since we got it we’d had to replace the belt thingy underneath a couple of times and recently my lovely husband had run over the cable twice and then he noticed some sparks flying, and really that was what sealed it’s fate. So I sent a plea to Vax with our plight and they came to my rescue and offered me Phil.
Watch us in action!
I recorded a little vacuuming action, see how I can twirl around and dance with him, watch how his torch lights the way! See how we can change from brush on, to brush off for carpet and hard floor action! Watch us effortlessly change to handheld for vacuuming the stairs…
We have windtunnel technology! It steers really easily and is super light. It’s easy to empty and switch from the upright mode to lifting it out for stairs or cleaning in high places. I’m definitely not going back to vacuuming with a cord, now I’ve gone cordless that’s it. It’s just infinitely easier – the ultimate life hack. While its not as hands off as some of the best robot vacuums for hardwood floors and carpet, it still is night and day when compared to a corded upright vacuum. There’s no compromise on suction and I’m much more likely to vacuum now I can just whip it out and not have to bother plugging it in, unwinding the cord, winding it up again, which I hated, even the ones with the button it never seemed to work so well after a while. I also hated having to swish the cord around me. I feel free and easy when I vacuum, with, lets face it with 3 kids on the loose it’s pretty much a daily occurrence!
