Wicked Uncle Firefighter’s Water Sprayer Toy Review and Giveaway

I know summer is on the way out, but there are still some sunny days to be had, and of course, Christmas is coming, so it’s always a good time to shop for cool toys for kids. What is cooler than a water sprayer, get it? We got the chance to try one out for ourselves and we had great fun. The Firefighter’s water sprayer from Wicked Uncle comes in a large-ish box which is always impressive to wrap for a gift for your favourite child or relative. Once you get it out of the box it requires no assembly or batteries, which is always a bonus. Scissors or patience will be required to get the toy free of the box and the wires holding it in place. It’s worth saying that the picture of the boy on the box has a hat, but the toy doesn’t come with a hat.

Once you’ve done that, all you need to do is fill up the water tank by unscrewing the cap and you’re good to go. I advise first making sure that the backpack tank is fitted to the child by adjusting the straps to fit. This is because once you fill up the tank it is quite heavy, and adjusting it when it’s full of water is not easy. Help will be needed to put it on your child too. I found the tank once full is too heavy for me to hold one-handed, but I do have a weakness in my arm.

Once the tank is filled, you fire the hose with a pump action rather than a trigger, so it is less gun-like if you are worried about the more traditional water gun toys and blasters. The water comes out of a shower like a rain hose and is not too strong. Daniel my son is 9 and he loved it. There is a sticker on the backpack and hose saying “Firefighter Henry” and a character. I think younger children would enjoy playing the firefighter role.

In our house, our dog goes crazy when any sort of hose or water toy is out. He loved this one so much, that whenever we go to get it, he goes mad and can’t wait for the water to come out! So you’ll see a crazy spaniel in some of our shots. By all means, get it as a dog toy, it’s pooch-approved.

The water lasts for a few minutes depending on how fast you are with the sprayer, Daniel was spraying pretty much constantly so we filled it up more. You can fill it up when it’s on, I used a large jug, although that didn’t fill it the whole way up.
