It’s all good and well having a job today, but if there are doubts on the longevity of the career, then it’ll be a lot less valuable. In the not too distant future, we’re going to see an upheaval of the working world thanks to the rise of automatic and artificial intelligence. Other jobs and industries will be lost just because time has a habit of doing that from time to time. If you want to build a long-term future for your family, then it’s important to look at the jobs that won’t only exist in the future, but which will be high in demand. We’ll take a look at some such examples below.
International Logistics
Everyone knows that the world is getting smaller with each passing year. We’re more connected than ever before. The issue is that the technology has kind of raced ahead of us. It’s fine for the USA and China to be connected, but if we don’t have the people who can facilitate the movement of goods and ideas, then it’ll only go so far. If you have a detailed-oriented mind, then look at pursuing international logistics. If you can specialise in a complicated field, then you’ll find that there are plenty of jobs available once you’ve completed your training.
Covering All Bases
There’s a lot of money in the world, more than ever before. As the world continues to grow, there’s a growing need to have protection against damage, especially things like climate change, which is increasingly causing damage to places through flooding and other extreme weather. It’s for this reason that the insurance industry is doing so well. In an age of entrepreneurs, more protections than ever are needed. If you can calculate risk and know how to deal with people, then a future in the world of insurance might be for you.
Healthcare Options
There are some things that’ll never fall out of fashion, such as healthcare. People have always valued their health and always will. In terms of jobs that are “future proof,” none are quite as strong as healthcare related positions. Of course, not all jobs — but things like researchers, doctors, and nurses can rest assured that their jobs are safe. Hospital admin jobs are also increasingly important, as medical facilities look to transition towards more holistic and rounded care, while also saving money.
A Tech Future
Finally, there’s the world of tech. We think that tech touches all areas of our lives right now, but really, the tech revolution has only just gotten started. In a hundred years, everything will look different. If you can pursue a career in tech, then it’s highly unlikely that you’ll have any trouble finding a job — there are already many more available tech jobs that can be filled. Of particular interest will be the rise of the Internet of Things and new technologies related to renewable energy. It’s these things that’ll define the future — start now, and you’ll be well-positioned to take advantage.
