I have a life long relationship with M & S, my Nana worked for them in London as a sales assistant, and my Mum also worked for them before she had children, where she was involved in catwalk shows for the high street giant. They look after their staff well, and I remember my Nana’s retirement party. When I was little we always got Marks and Spencers gifts and food and I was always taught that Marks and Spencers = quality. Picnics and long journeys would involve a prawn and mayonnaise sandwich from M & S for sure, and my parents still buy certain staples from them – peanuts are one, they always have a bowl of peanuts on the go at their house and they’re so tasty and better than any of the other supermarket brands.
That brand loyalty has always stayed with me, and I am a lover of their food hall in particular. We have a large food M & S near us and it’s like Mecca to me – we go there every once in a while and definitely at Christmas time. I’d shop there all the time if it was a tad cheaper, but quality is always a little more expensive. I love their Per Una womenswear range too, it’s different and fits well, I always find something I like and you can’t beat their undies. I get myself measured for bras there and they always fit well. I still have the same thermal vests from there that I’ve had for over ten years, they’ve lasted so well. The children’s coats often come from there as I know they last and the designs are always gorgeous. Daniel’s favourite yellow raincoat is from there, he loves it and looks so cute in it.
