Last week my family and I were invited to a Christening for some friends of ours to celebrate the christening of their twin baby girls. They had a simple church ceremony which was called a thanksgiving instead of a christening or baptism because the godparents weren’t baptised! It was a moving service with some lovely readings. I had to take Phoebe to the toilet in the middle of proceedings so I did miss some of the important bits! I attempted to get the big two to look smart – this was my best photo attempt outside the church:

Moving swiftly on, we headed off to the Hadlow Manor Hotel in Hadlow, Tonbridge for the all important booze, food, cake and a spot of socialising. We chatted to old friends and reacquainted ourselves with some people we hadn’t seen in a while and met some new people. The sun was shining, the venue was beautiful with lovely gardens and the room was decked out with balloons and table confetti with a relaxed and welcoming vibe.

The grounds of the hotel were superb, I could imagine myself and a friend enjoying a chat and a glass of wine, or my family and I enjoying an afternoon tea in the summer!

The food was delicious and looked amazing. By far the most popular were the cupcakes, especially with the littler people at the party! The couple had chosen a pink tiered cake with blocks spelling out their babies’ names. The staff were helpful and polite and made everything go smoothly.

Cheers!
Baby D is weaning onto solids and we’re doing baby led weaning, he loved the food and tried a little bit of everything, but I think his favourite was the chocolate cupcake… luckily we had one of those bibs that cover everything and lots of baby wipes!

After the food the children went outside to the courtyard garden and played hide and seek.

This would make a lovely venue if you are planning a wedding, christening or party, I’d love to go back when I next plan an event.
