Winter’s on it’s way with promises of crisp frosty mornings, dragon’s breath, spiderwebs and crunchy leaves, fireworks and bonfires followed by warm fires, cosy nights in, hot chocolate with marshmallows floating on top, but with all that can come some seriously dry skin for our children. It’s hard to know what’s best to use on their delicate skin, Salcura have a range of products called Bioskin Junior that can help the battle with Eczema and dry skin and has no hidden nasties! I have been reviewing their Bathtime face and body wash, Daily Nourishing Spray and the Outbreak Rescue Cream.

What they claim:
“Bioskin Junior Active Therapy range is a two-step system ideal for those prone to eczema, psoriasis and severely dry skin. Designed for use by children and babies aged 3 months and over, and by anyone with very sensitive or delicate skin. Using only naturally active ingredients, Daily Nourishing Spray and Outbreak Rescue Cream offers you a skin therapy regime that is free from steroids, SLS, parabens, lanolin, phthalates, antibiotics and paraffin.”
It’s really important to me that only natural ingredients are used, especially having researched into how these chemicals can affect us. Baby D is teething and producing a lot of dribble at the moment which causes dry skin and he has sore red patches under his neck. He is 9 months old so I am always careful which products I use. I have been using the daily nourishing spray which is easy to apply with a wriggly squirming baby and has a pleasant smell. It absorbs quickly with no greasiness. When I felt he needed some extra help I used the rescue cream which is a thicker cream and contains Linseed to reduce redness and swelling, Borage to help retain moisture and Zeolite which is an anti-oxidant. There are no steroids in the creams so you can apply them as often as needed and use them on children’s faces like I did. My older son who is 6 gets dry patches in the winter and he reported the cream gave him no added irritation. Again the Outbreak rescue cream was easily absorbed and non greasy.
My children all love bathtime and The Bathtime Face and Body wash has a lovely aroma and produces a nice amount of bubbles! It gently washes and also soothes and nourishes dry and eczema prone skin. I felt confident on using it for all of my family.
Disclosure – I was given the three products for free in return for my open and honest review, all opinions are my own.
Bioskin Junior are offering families with children who suffer from Eczema a free goody bag with their campaign Give Your Child Their Smile Back and you can also enter their competition to win more products by tweeting on twitter.
