Three ways to slay your holiday style and keep comfortable

So it’s Christmas, and we might actually have to get off the sofa and socialise. At least we can do it looking half way decent. Let’s hope so! I’ve chosen three different looks to show you which should take you through the holiday season, keep you comfortable and looking good. I’m a UK size 16 and a 43 year old Mum of 3, to give you a bit of perspective.

1. The all purpose black jumpsuit – day to night

This jumpsuit is really comfy and it has a wide leg which is very flattering. It also has a tie belt which sits above the waist, drawing attention away from any problem areas. Mine are my tummy and my hips, so it works quite well for this style. I ordered a size M/L (12-14) and it fits me well. It has a silver zip at the back and is made from stretchy fabrics with a rib detail. The only downside I can tell you about is that when you have to go to the toilet you’ll have to do some wiggling to undo and redo the zip, or maybe find a friend to team up with.

I also ordered the same jumpsuit in a stone colour, which I think will go well in the summer months. Alternatively, it comes in a mustard and Khaki colours. If you don’t like your arms or you want to cover up in the cold, you can wear a jacket or long shirt.

2. The asymmetrical party dress – night on the tiles

I love this bodycon dress, it’s made from soft stretch material, but thinner than the jumpsuit. It has a high neck and long sleeves, but an asymmetrical hemline, meaning it’s a mini skirt one side and a calf length the other. Pair with thick tights if you’re not so confident or dare to bare. I love the gold spotty detail. This came in size 16, although I think I could size down to a 14. It skims over the tummy area and is not tight, it flows over the body so you won’t feel uncomfortable.

3. The jumper dress – cosy family party

Whilst technically a jumper dress, I am wearing it as a long line jumper here with jeans. I think it would be a bit indecent as a dress! I am wearing a M/L (12-14) size and I’m a busty size 16 so it may well be longer on a size 12-14 person. It’s very soft and cosy with it’s high neck and a lovely sand colour. You can team it with jeans as I have, leggings, thick tights or a pleather pencil skirt.

What do you think? These three staples can all be worn differently and will see you through the different occasions of Christmas and New Year. If all else fails, get yourself a decent pair of cosy slippers, pour yourself a Baileys and stick on a cheesy Christmas film. Cheers!
