We received a very exciting package recently, which I agreed to review mainly because I used to love My little pony when I was a child and they seem to have morphed into something completely different. Not any more, there is a new retro collection. We got Flutterbye, a peach creation with rainbow hair. She comes with a comb and a bow in her tail, plus a puffy sticker which sparked a memory in me.

We’ve both had some fun plaiting her hair and playing make believe. She has wings to fly and glittery butterflies on her bottom! I used to have the My little pony grooming parlour which I played endlessly with. Phoebe stuck the sticker inside her lucky lunchbox. Here is the link if you want to find out more:
The little lucky lunchbox is a new collectable for kids. I quite like it as a parent, because it has a tin to hold all the little bits in. There are different tins to collect, all on a different foodie theme.

We got the pizza tin, which had inside a hot dog, an onion (inside the hot dog), a blue thermos you could take the cup part off and a watermelon sticker. Each little part comes in it’s own blind bag which heightens the pleasure somehow. The little lucky lunchbox was Phoebe’s favourite toy out of the bundle (she’s 8 for reference). The collector leaflet inside with what you can get next is very important. She’s packed it and unpacked it several times and has declared that she would like to collect one a month until she has them all. I get updates from her saying which once she wants next.

Lastly we have the ‘Cuteito’ toy. It’s a play on words for burrito. You get a surprise beanie baby type toy, wrapped up in foil like when you get a takeaway burrito. We got Oinkito the pig, who is medium spice. You either get mild, medium or hot. The surprise element is over in a flash and then it’s just another cuddly toy, so it’s nothing amazing. We both love wrapping the pig up though, and I’ve shown her the fine art of wrapping a fajita. She has shown great interest in all three toys so I think they all make great gifts.

What do you think? Does your little one love collectables like mine?
