Disney Characters come to life

This post contains gifted products from shopDisney, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to become your favourite Disney character for the day? To really embody the character. I asked two of my children; Phoebe (8) and Daniel (4) what they thought their favourite characters were like.

Phoebe chose Cinderella. She’s been a long standing favourite, since we went to see the Cinderella film and we have the original Disney cartoon. She was enthralled with the transformation of the poor servant girl into the dream princess at the ball. Cinderella remains graceful and kind even when things don’t always go her way. Phoebe says:

Cinderella loves animals like mice and dogs but the naughty cat is too naughty to like! She cleans the floor and does washing. She wears a pretty blue dress and glass shoes but loses one.

We also made a word cloud out of the story to highlight the most common words in the story.

When we got the fancy dress costume from shopDisney, we discovered Phoebe can do a light show with the magical sceptre, which has lights and sounds, and she can perform spells to make pumpkins come to life into a coach. We tried to find some mice together to turn into footmen and horses, but they somehow eluded us. Sometimes our cat brings us in half a mouse or occasionally a whole one, so we can wait until then to try it out.

You can tell the Cinderella Tiara from shopDisney is a quality item from the weight. It’s no plastic tat, it’s metal and has grip combs to keep it in place. The jewels are impressive. The bow is large and sits just right in her hair. There is a sequin panel down the front, and a metal brooch that matches the detail in the Tiara. It’s the little touches that take the imaginary play to the next level.

Daniel’s favourite Disney character is Spiderman. He likes to imagine shooting webs from his hands and hiding, jumping and running to catch his enemies and save the day. When Daniel wears the spiderman costume from shopDisney it makes him feel more powerful – especially as the suit has built in muscles for him! He feels like he can do expert manoeuvres and that he has special skills.

This is helped by the added features the light up laser gloves give him. We also tried out the shooting web accessory gloves which he had so much fun shooting. They shoot so far! With him wearing one and his older brother wearing the other they can have a little Spiderman battle. They played good versus bad Spiderman together. My role was finding and picking up the web bullets again and again.

Daniel says:

Spiderman shoots, he is super fast and brave. He can go up the wall and jump off back down then shoot you! He has webs and he can see very far!

He enjoyed jumping around the garden showing off his ninja moves. When it got dark, the laser lights showed Spiderman’s face in a web which was very cool.
