Clear away any junk

A great starting point when it comes to reviving your garden ready for summer is to take the time to clear away any mess, clutter or junk. It’s amazing how much of a difference it can make when you take the time to clear away mess and rubbish – it can make your garden feel like a much larger (and nicer-to-spend-time-in) space.

Mow, weed, and trim

Another important step to take is to make the time to get your garden’s grass, plants, and weeds back in order (if they’ve grown out of order, that is).

Start by mowing your lawn – you will be amazed at how much of a difference a nicely cut lawn makes to the space. Once your lawn’s been mowed, the next step is to strim any additional areas of overgrowth, removing weeds. If you have any bare patches, sow some grass seed and water it. Don’t walk over the area and fence it off from children and pets to allow for good regrowth.

It’s also a good idea to take the time to cut back any bushes and shrubs that have grown a little out of control. By pruning back these kinds of plants you will not only neaten up your garden but will also encourage healthy growth.

Get cleaning

You might not necessarily associate your garden with somewhere that needs to be cleaned, but believe it or not it does.

If you want to revive your outdoor space ready for summer, using a hard bristle brush to brush your patio or decked area, followed by scrubbing it with water and a brush or using a pressure washer is an important step.

As for your garden furniture, if you have any furniture like rattan sun loungers that you’re going to be putting out as part of your summer garden layout, you might want to think about how you can get it sparkling and fresh-looking again. Depending on the type of furniture you have, you might be wondering how to clean wicker furniture or how to wash rattan furniture, so it’s worth taking the time to do your research online – believe it or not, there are plenty of useful resources for this kind of cleaning.

Add some little touches

To add a sense of ‘newness’ to your garden, without breaking the bank of course, consider adding a few little new touches to the space. You would be amazed how much difference adding a few well throughout accessories can make to the look and feel of your outdoor space.

Often, it’s the accessories that make the biggest difference to the look and feel of an outdoor space. If you’re keen to add a sense of colour and brightness to your garden, you can easily do that with a few well thought out accessories. Fom bright, bold geometric outdoor rugs, throws and cushions, to solar bulb lights, gorgeous planters, and glorious gazebos, there are lots of options to choose from.

Prepare to dine alfresco

Don’t forget to make sure that your outdoor space has room for a little outdoor dining. There’s nothing quite like sitting outside on a warm evening and enjoying a meal in the fresh air, is there?

That’s why having an outdoor table and chairs to dine at is a must, as is having a BBQ to cook on outside. If you want to take outdoor dining even further, you could consider adding an outdoor kitchen to your space, potentially including an outdoor pizza oven.

There you have it, a guide to how you can get your garden summer ready in a few simple steps. Take note of the tips and suggestions above and you can easily transform your garden into the most glorious space ahead of the warmer summer weather.
