In the end, we give up and get professional help, but after reading this article carefully and following the hacks provided exactly, you know how to unblock a sink with any problem.

Prevention:

Obviously, prevention is better than cure. So, first of all, we should know that what things cause the blockage of sinks. In this section, we will talk about that. Throwing anything other than water or any other liquid is inappropriate and may cause blockage of the sink. Some things that cause blockage are paper, tissues, grease, and oily products. Try to avoid throwing these things into the sink; unblocking the sink will be your daily activity.

Unblocking process:

  • The most common method to unblock a sink is by using a plunger. There are high chances that you already know how to unblock a sink by using a plunger, and in this article, we are not going to explain that method. But if you have tried the plunger method, and still your sink is clogged, or the plunger method did not work well, then you should follow this guide.
  • This method includes the use of bicarbonates of soda. This is quite an inexpensive and relatively simple method to unblock a sink. First of all, boil a cup of water and pour the water into the sink. The hot water will dissolve any kind of oily substance present in the plughole, and if it is the cause of the blockage, the sink will be viable.
  • Now, take one cup of baking soda and throw it into the sink after water. Use a funnel so that all the baking soda goes directly into the plughole. Leave the baking soda in the plughole for some time. Do not pour water after the baking soda.
  • Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate. Sodium bicarbonate requires water and acid to start the reaction. So, to start the reaction put acid into the plughole. Pour one cup of vinegar to start this reaction. Baking soda will react with acid and water present in the plughole, and minor fuzzing will occur. This fuzzing will unclog or unblock the sink by dissolving the particles deposited on the pipe.

Conclusion:

The method described in this article is way cheaper than other methods to unblock a sink. Also, this method is very easy to carry out as all the materials involved in the process are available in every home. Another reason why you should adopt this method is that it is very reliable even it is more reliable than the plunger.
