Why have a baby wish list?
Well, much like a wedding list when you don’t want three toasters and a load of crystal champagne flutes, it’s important to write a list for friends and family of what you actually need and want. If you’re not sure what you actually need for your baby and what you’ll get the most use out of, check out this post on baby items. Whilst I was researching this post, I came across my Amazon baby wish list which is now obviously empty and I had a little pang. No more babies for me though, maybe a puppy. Can you make a puppy wish list? Probably!
What is the Amazon Baby Wish List and How it works
Firstly, sign up for an Amazon account if you haven’t already and get an amazon family account and/or prime account. You don’t have to be a prime member, but there are so many benefits to having one. Next, create your baby wish list. Then, simply add items. You can add items as you go, and keep them all in one place. If you’re having a baby shower, you can share the link in your invitations or just share with your family and friends.
There’s so much choice
You can get pretty much anything on Amazon these days, from big brand names to small businesses. There’s such a huuuuge range and you will definitely be able to get everything you want and need.
Pretty much everyone has an Amazon account
I think most people now have an Amazon account, and even if they don’t they can still get your items via the method below.
People can still buy offline
If your Grandma or Auntie Jean wants to buy your gift in store and wrap it themselves, they can. Just tick it off on the baby wish list as bought. If after you make the list you want some surprises, get a friend to manage it for you.
The curated categories
It’s practically impossible to forget anything with their curated categories and recommendations for you, you’ll fill it up in no time.
It’s just the cheapest
It’s really hard to get the items cheaper anywhere else, with Amazon’s constant price checking, so you can be sure you’ll get the best value.
The Amazon welcome gift
An exciting new gift is released by Amazon each month, after your baby wish list has closed, choose one and make it yours.

Free returns and exchanges
Not so keen when you get it home? No problem, you can get a refund or exchange for up to 90 days. I’ve had to return items and never had a problem.
Amazon family members get 20% discount on nappies and baby food
If you sign up to Amazon family, you get 20% discount on nappies and baby food, plus vouchers, prime video, music and unlimited amazon fire programmes for kids. They often have bulk buy deals that make it even cheaper, so keep an eye out on the daily deals in the baby section.
You can add items from other stores
In the unlikely event that you can’t find what you want on Amazon, you can still add items from other online stores using the browser button Amazon Assist, which you can add from your baby wish list.
It’s just so Easy
Once someone has bought an item off the list, it’s immediately ticked as purchased, so no-one buys an item twice. You can also check in to see what’s been bought and how your list is doing. You can access it via the mobile app on the go too. Creating your baby wish list on Amazon is so easy, you won’t regret it, and let’s face it, baby shopping is one of the best bits about being pregnant. You may even find time to put your feet up before the big day arrives!
