Quick Ways to Upgrade Your Home & Garden

Looking for quick and easy ways to modernise your home and garden spaces in preparation for summer? With the hotter weather not too far over the horizon, we’ve put together a short guide with three different ways that you might want to freshen up your home and garden space in 2022. Read on to get started!

Making the switch to artificial grass

Fed up with having to mow the grass regularly, or just generally having to maintain and look after your lawn in order to make it feel like a space you can relax and unwind in? Artificial grass might just be the perfect answer.

A modern garden solution that has surged in popularity around the UK over the past couple of years, artificial grass not only removes the need for mowing and general maintenance, but also the need for using chemicals and pesticides in the garden – which is great news for pet owners.

As well as keeping the vibrant, ‘freshly-cut’ look all year round, fake grass lawns are ideal for family activities and play, without the worry of mud being brought in and out of the house when the kids are running around.

Automating the home with smart technology

If you haven’t already, investing in smart home tech is a great way to make your home feel modern and exciting. Not only that, but if used in the right way, it can even help to make your daily routine run that bit smoother than before.

Unsure of what the ‘smart tech’ craze is all about? Well, it refers to devices in the home that interact with each other while connecting to the internet, and the chances are that you’ve already got one or two smart-compatible appliances in your house already.

You can start with one of the smart speakers offered by Google or Amazon and go from there, adding in smart lighting and even heating control to let your home do the work for you and build around your lifestyle.

Repurposing a room

If your home feels a little tired and uninspiring, it might be worth trying to think of how you can adjust and repurpose a space that you’re not using to its full potential. Minimalist interiors can help to maximise floor space if you feel like you don’t have much room and feel like there is too much overbearing furniture. Scaling back could even help you to make some extra money from selling old appliances, which you can then reinvest into new renovation projects.

You could even think about transforming a room into a gym or home office, based on your lifestyle requirements, in order to get more productive use out of a space that isn’t getting used as it should currently.

Looking to get started on a renovation project that’s a little bit more advanced? A loft conversion (or similar room conversion) can add a significant amount of space to a home, and increase the value of your property in the process if you’re maybe looking to sell later down the line.
