We’ve been in need of a skip for a while since we had our fencing done. We had to clear a whole load of soil and rubble from the bag of the garden, so I was more than keen to review Clearabee’s skip bag service. They call it a beebag and have a buzzing bee image.

We got a medium skip bag, you can also opt for a small one if you have less to clear, or the traditional skip. The good thing about going for the skip bag is that it comes in the post all folded up, so you can unfold it when you’re ready to use it rather than having a giant metal skip on the drive for ages.

The medium skip bag was the perfect size for our needs. We also had some garage rubbish to get rid of and some leftover Christmas waste. We got a bit confused about what we could and couldn’t put in the bag and had to clarify with them. It was a weekend, and we were able to hop on the online chat and get answers straight away. Here’s a list of definite no-nos:

  • Paint tins
  • Food waste
  • Chemicals
  • Car/truck tyres
  • Gas bottles
  • Batteries

Other than that if it’s bagged up it’s OK. We had some bags of dry plaster and cement that needed to go in bags. You also need to notify them about TV monitors, mattresses and fridges, freezers and air conditioning units. You must place it where the access will be easy. We’ve put ours on the front of the drive.

Once you’ve filled it you can arrange collection, so it’s really flexible. You don’t have to commit before you’ve even started. For delivery and collection, the medium skip bag costs £139.99. The dimensions are 180cm x 90cm x 70cm and can hold up to 1500 kgs. You can hire one from any part of the UK. As well as varying sizes of skip bags, they also offer skips, man and van hire and sofa removal.

Beebag collection day

I had agreed a date and time for pick up. On the day I got a text with their arrival time which was appreciated. They came in a lorry with the Clearabee logo and colours on it. I had just one man arrive and he was very polite, even let me take photos of him for this post. He was very efficient, we were a bit concerned about the loose soil we had in the bag, but he had spare bags and was happy to shovel it in. They empty the bag and then put it in the lorry.

All in all I found the whole experience very positive, there was good service throughout and it served our purpose very well. It’s a good budget option for waste removal and very efficient. The bags are then recycled to use again.

    Hi Jenny,
    Wow, Amazing Ideas!!!

Firstly, thanks for sharing the article. I first heard today the idea of a clearance skip bag. This is quite effective, as these bags will help you to print our fireplace, yard, garden dirt. Here’s a buzzing beam image. Looking at it, you can identify the clearance skip bag.

    Thank You!!!
