The winter is over and the spring has arrived. That is clear from the freshness of the atmosphere and the colour in the parks and flowerbeds. Spring is a short season but it’s intense. It has incredible vibrancy and optimism, as well as plenty of sunlight. To make the most of springtime this year use some of the tips below to revamp your home.

ADD A COLOURFUL CARPET

Accent colours are perfect for springtime. The spring season is short in comparison to winter and summer, so you may not want to redecorate the place wholesale. That’s where accent colours are so useful, they allow you to bring a freshness to your home without extensive redecoration.

A colourful carpet is an excellent choice. Depending on your persuasion you could have a bold solid colour that contrasts directly with the walls, or something more integrated that has more patterns and shapes. Colourful rugs can be used in any room and can be easily rolled up and put away.

MACRAME PLANT HANGERS

If you don’t know Macrame it’s a very old art form. It dates back to the 13th century and involves tying ropes or yarn to create hanging forms. Pots can be placed between the ropes making them the ideal hanging basket for the inside of your home. These are excellent additions in the springtime.

A Macrame hanging basket let’s you introduce some of the season’s nature into your home and enjoy it throughout the day – especially if that’s where you work. With some of the hanging baskets around your home office you won’t feel like you’re missing out on the springtime while working at your desk.

CHERRY BLOSSOM VIBES

Cherry blossoms are the quintessential springtime flowering plant. They are celebrated predominantly in the East, especially Japan where they are revered for their delicate qualities and beautiful aroma. The trend has also made it to Europe and America however.

If you love cherry blossoms but don’t know how to grow them or where to see them, you can introduce them into your home by using a cherry blossom branch displayed in a white vase. This simple way of growing and enjoying cherry blossoms is popular, especially in regions where they are nom-native. Ask your garden centre for more details.

FLORAL LAMPS

The springtime is all about flowers and new life, but that doesn’t have to mean real life flowers. You can introduce flower patterns and textures into your home in a variety of ways. One of these ways is floral lamps which can be used in any room of the house.

Floral lamps can be bought in different forms. You can buy them with traditional lamp shades or more modern designs. Some of the more modern lampshades are made to look like flowers rather than having flowers printed on them. Floral lamps give you springtime feelings in the evening as well.

FLORAL STATEMENT ART

Statement art can be canvas art or paintings. It is a type of art that dominates a space and brings focus to a room. This type of art is excellent if you want to create a particular atmosphere in a room or you want to change the vibrancy of it depending on the season. You might think of statement art as accent decoration.

In the springtime it makes sense to take advantage of the floral motifs and introduce floral statement art. There are many designs and styles to choose from. Browse some statement art online to see what’s available and what suits your personal tastes. Statement art is a great way to change a room depending on the season.

FLORAL MASON JARS

Mason  jars were first invented and patented in the mid 18th century. Originally they were used for storing food items in the kitchen, but in recent years Mason jars have found a whole range of other uses. Mason jars are now used to create lamps, for various decorations, and for fancy drinks.

This spring why not use a Mason jar as a seasonal floral decoration? You can collect some of the season nature while out on your nature walks and incorporate them into a unique display. Some items that work well for this purpose include twigs, dried flowers and green leaves.

PIN HOLDERS

Flower arranging has a long history. It goes back centuries in both the east and the west. Both traditions have their separate characteristics, but one thing they have in common is an appreciation of nature and form. If you don’t know how to create beautiful flower arranging projects you might like pin holders.

A pin holder is a small metal bowl with pins in the centre. You can place flowers into the centre of the bowl and create beautiful formulations and arrangements easily. The great thing about a pin holder is that it allows you to replace items as and when required, or if you make a mistake.

A SPRING TERRACE

If you don’t get out of the house often or if you work a lot from home there’s no reason you should miss out on the springtime. The springtime is a season that offers so much in terms of fresh air, sunshine and natural beauty. If you feel cooped up or if you want more access to natures, consider a spring terrace.

A spring terrace is a small outdoor area. It could be a balcony, a patio, or an extension.

Creating a spring terrace may require some Rubbish Removal but it’s worth it for the end result. Introduce hanging baskets, some comfortable chairs and a table to put your books or laptop on.

REVAMP ACCENT WALLS

Sometimes the idea of redecorating for a single season seems somewhat absurd. Why would you redesign and redecorate your home only to change it again a few months later. Most people wouldn’t do this, but they might change their accent decor.

Accent decor can be a single painted wall or the trims in your home, it could also be a piece of statement art. In short, your home’s accent is what gives it its unique qualities. These are sleazy to change on a seasonal basis to create a sense of relevance.
