Summer Styling with my #GeorgeMiniMe

I love how my little girl Phoebe has her own unique sense of style, she has strong opinions on what she wants to wear, and likes things to be colour coordinated. She often changes outfit at least once per day, and although she’s happy to wear her school uniform, she changes as soon as she gets home. She’s still into dressing up and make believe but more often than not now she prefers outfits and is more into fashion. And shoes and bags – well she is my daughter after all! I’m collaborating with George at Asda for their #GeorgeMiniMe style challenge, they kindly let us choose some coordinating outfits from their current range. We had enough to get a second dress for her plus a bag and shoes so that she can jazz up some of her current outfits. She loves all things ‘Adult-y’ at the moment (she’s 5 – help me!), so she chose these sandals with a little heel on them, perfect for summer parties.

With the monochrome trend not going anywhere this season and next, for our matching outfits we went Black and White. My dress is a flattering A-line black and white stripe, with on trend cutout shoulder detail and belted waist. It’s nice and light for the summer and comfortable to wear. My shoes are a suede black wedge. Phoebe’s dress has buttons, a chiffon outer layer which is black with white hearts and a black under layer. The collar is covered with black sequins and the flared skirt has an up and down asymmetrical hemline. The short flared sleeves give it a delicate, feminine touch. A belt completes the look. It’s formal enough to wear to a wedding or party, but flexible enough to play in. The frilled socks complete the look.

For Phoebe’s second outfit, she chose one of her long term idol’s to emulate – Peppa Pig! This party dress is understated and has a soft jersey top half so she’s comfortable in it, and a subtle net layer under the skirt for added volume. There’s a pink bow and applique detail. The Peppa Pig part is not too in your face. She loves it and it suits her perfectly.

It’s all in the accessories sometimes, and this gold metallic shell bag will brighten up any outfit they currently have, team it with some strappy sandals and they’ll feel amazing, ready to party! We have a mermaid themed party coming up so it will be in use then. I may be borrowing it myself… channeling my inner mermaid.
