The 3 Essential Pillars Of Any Successful Relationship

When you first start a relationship, you, generally speaking, will wish to see it succeed. But that’s not necessarily a starting fad that helps you move forward in naivety. A level of work and investment must also be applied to even long-term marriages. For this reason, it’s important to know exactly how to structure a relationship properly, as if you were building a structure rather than simply being dynamic in something that will always remain.

This way, your structure will be able to withstand harsher storms, and be better off for it. In this post, then, we hope to discuss the three essential pillars of any successful relationship, those pillars that will lend themselves to keeping up the structure of your relationship. Keeping that in mind might not be so easy on the face of it, but like anything, we become more adept the more we try and the more we learn over time.

Furthermore, it can’t be guaranteed that the following three pillars WILL lead to a successful relationship, but without them, your relationship is almost certainly doomed to fail. Let’s see what that may mean:

Honesty

Honesty is an essential component of any relationship, some might say the most crucial component. Without it, its opposite, untruth, can slowly fester and build, even in the little things. Of course, there are times where little white lies are acceptable. If you preferred the hairstyle of your partner before they proudly visited their salon and had it cut, it’s still nice to tell them you love it and remain supportive. But where it really matters, it’s essential to make sure you can discuss the most difficult questions properly. This is how the best marriage and relationship counselling services help you heal. So why not apply it to your relationship now?

Trust

Without trust, you will forever feel alone in a relationship. Trust is much more than just trusting that someone will stay true to you and not feel tempted to cheat, as is often talked so much about in the media and the content we consume. Trust is more about being able to rely on someone to be honest, or to pick you up from work at the time you’ve agreed, or to be a combined partner in the joint team you’re building. Trust is earned, so make sure you’re not giving it too freely, and also make sure you earn it yourself.

Communication

It’s important to communicate with your partner, and in a proper manner. For instance, it might be that you need to discuss a tough topic that might lend itself to a disagreement. Instead of allowing the conversation to get off course to the point where you both bring up every issue you might have and end up becoming vitriolic because of it, agree to stick to the one topic, and take it in turns to talk without interruption. This is a healthy strategy, because no couple can ever agree on everything 100% of the time, and you need a plan for when you don’t.

With this advice, we hope you can apply the three essential pillars of any successful relationship as necessary.
