Sharing is caring!

Cosmetic treatments and surgeries are becoming more and more popular when it comes to retaining that youthful appearance. It helps that more and more insurance companies are starting to cover medically deemed necessary plastic surgeries. Before you start considering a procedure, here are five of the most common plastic surgeries that people are getting today.

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is another name for a nose job and is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures there is. It’s even performed by the top plastic surgeons utah. Many people may feel like their nose is too large or they want their nose to look more smoothed out. A rhinoplasty isn’t only performed on the exterior of the nose, there is some internal surgery as well to help promote breathing or any sinus conditions that might exist.

Breast Augmentation

This is a surgical procedure to increase the size, shape, or fullness of the breast. It can be for purely cosmetic reasons, or as part of reconstructive surgery after a mastectomy. Two different kinds of implants can be used: saline or silicone. The surgical procedure can also be done in a number of ways, depending on the size of the augmentation and the condition of the patient’s skin.

Blepharoplasty

This is also known as eyelid surgery which can be performed on the upper eyelids, the lower eyelids, or both. Excess skin, muscle, or fatty tissue can be removed to reduce the bagginess of the lower lids or improve the hooding of the upper lids. Eyelids that are droopy can make you look much older and more tired. In some instances, the procedure could be deemed medically necessary if drooping eyelids cause vision problems.

Facelifts

A facelift aims to lift and tighten facial tissues to create a firmer and more youthful appearance. A full facelift (from the forehead down to the neck) is called a rhytidectomy and is one of the most invasive surgeries on the face. Smaller lifts can be done on the brow, neck, and eyelid if you don’t want to go the full route. Non-surgical facelift options include fillers, thread lifting, ultrasound, and liquid facelifts. It really depends on how much time you want to spend healing and what you want the end results to be.

Liposuction

Liposuction is also known as lipectomy, lipoplasty, liposculpture suction, lipectomy, lipo, or body contouring. It is a cosmetic surgery that removes excess fat from the body through the use of a vacuum. It is not a substitute for weight loss and is mostly used on those areas of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. The most common areas of liposuction involve hips, thighs, under the chin, stomach, and under the arms.

There are risks involved with any plastic surgery, so it’s important that you talk about your concerns with a reputable surgeon before you decide that a surgical option might be right for you. Discuss what your goals are with your surgeon so that they have a good idea of what you want the end result to look like. Always check a surgeon’s credentials, get references, and ask as many questions as possible during your consultation.
