Cancer Care Parcel Deluxe Chemotherapy Parcel Review

Sharing is caring!

If you know anyone with Cancer, and let’s face it you probably will at least once in your lifetime, it can be difficult to know what to say (that’s a whole other post) or do, but today we’re going to look at the sorts of things that may be beneficial to them or just nice to have, particularly if they are going to have chemotherapy. They may well feel absolutely fine and then chemo comes along and floors them totally. The least we can do as a friend or family members is to ease their journey somewhat.

The best thing you can do is just be there for them, as a friend to cheer them up and keep them company, just the same as always, but is there anything physical or practical we can do? We often feel helpless as the supporting person and want to help but don’t know how. We can make ourselves available in a practical way, but if you want to buy a gift, it can be really hard to know what to get them.

The company Cancer Care Parcel started as a cancer gift company but has now evolved into cancer support and they support a number of cancer charities around the world by fundraising and raising awareness. By using them, you are also helping in a wider sense. They have some useful resources on their website like information sheets on what to say and do when someone gets a cancer diagnosis and how to help. I found it really useful.

Cancer Care Parcel sent me a parcel to review, it is their deluxe chemotherapy parcel, designed for people with cancer going through chemo. I agreed to review this because I have a friend living with cancer and I am going to send it on to her. I was gifted the box and received some compensation for my time in writing this post. My thoughts are honest. Here is what you get in this box:

For Comfort

✪ NECK PILLOW
✪ MAGIC GLOVES
✪ HANDWARMER – chemo can give you cold hands and feet
✪ BED SOCKS

For Nausea

✪ ANTI-NAUSEA WRIST BAND
✪ PEPPERMINT HERBAL TEA BAGS
✪ GINGER CHEWS

For Pampering

✪ BLANKET, this is super soft and I very nearly kept this for myself!
✪ LIP BALM

Stress Relief

✪ COLOUR PAD AND PENCILS

Useful Items

✪ WOVEN COOL FOOD BAG
✪ EARPHONES – check compatibility with their devices
✪ WATER BOTTLE I liked the fact that it is eco-friendly and BPA free.
✪ ACCESS TO CANCER RESOURCES

You can also get a box specifically for a man or a woman, children or teens. They have gifts to suit your budget and what stage their cancer is at. The box I received was slightly female orientated, I think a man might find the flowery design on the water bottle, colouring book, and food bag a bit girly for them, so I don’t think it’s completely unisex. The water bottle, although eco-friendly, was wrapped in unnecessary plastic. The rest of the box had eco packaging and the box was completely recyclable and had comforting messages on them so they know you are thinking of them. On the whole, I love the idea of the boxes, it would be really nice to receive from someone if you are going through this.
