I have a budding artist in Phoebe, and Daniel is keen to hold pens and make marks now. I love the idea of these multi use pens, they’re called Chalkola pens and come in a range of colours. You can write with them on any non-porous surface so blackboards, glass, whiteboards.

We got the primary colours pack as pictured above and also these lovely calming earth colours. They come in a plastic wallet to keep them all together.

When you first use the pens, you have to shake it for 30 seconds, then you need to prime the tip by pressing the nib up and down on some paper. It doesn’t take long and then they’re ready to use. Daniel was on hand to help me test them on our blackboard wall. Our toy room is undecorated, good job because he obviously can’t be expected to stay in the box!

Don’t worry though, the pens wash off with a damp cloth, phew! I can’t vouch for all walls and surfaces, but as long as they’re drawn on a non porous surface, they will wipe clean.

He’s very advanced for his age, he even knows his ABCs! They also work on glass, so they’re perfect for events like Christmas, parties and for writing on jars. I had a little doodle on the window and the results are pretty good.

Disclosure: we were gifted the pens for the review, all opinions are my own.

Pens are looking good but have you really used them or gifted someone for daily usage. Are these for only showcase or actual smooth writing?
June 26, 2019 at 7:00 pmI think they’re for art only rather than writing. They’re quite thick.
