The bedroom is a place to relax, unwind and most importantly, sleep. When you have young children, it is nice to have a place to escape to and have some time out each evening. With that in mind, it makes sense that your bedroom should be a place that feels like a luxury retreat. Then you can relax, wind down and sleep more easily. That is the hope anyway! When you hear the word ‘luxury,’ it makes you think of spending a lot of money. You don’t have to spend a lot to transform your room, though. Here are a few ideas for you that are all easy to do.
Change the Colour Scheme
Colour plays a big part in how we feel in a room. Certain colours also give off certain vibes. Some certainly don’t scream luxury either. You don’t find many luxury spas or hotels painted in brights like lime green or yellow, for example. Luxury colours are ones that are rich AND deep. Jewel colours like purple and jade are a great choice, as well as dark blues. You could also opt for a more timeless colour and keep the room looking fairly neutral, with varying shades or cream or white. Any of these colours, teamed with gold or silver accessories will give your room the look of luxury for sure.
One easy way to change to look and richness of a room is to alter the lighting. It really makes such a difference! One simple way is by changing your main light switch to a dimmer switch. Then you can easily change the mood and lighting in the room. Adding in extra lamps or wall lights will make a difference too. When you have different levels of lights, you can give your room different dimensions; a really classy look. You could also replace the main light fixture. Instead of a plain shade, think about a more extravagant looking one. If your lighting plans are ambitious, you might want to think about a lighting plan. Think chandelier, and you won’t be far off. There are a lot of affordable options to look out for, though.
Upgrade Your Furniture
No matter what the colour and lighting are like, a bedroom won’t look luxurious without a luxurious looking bed. If you have a bed you love already; then you could just add some accessories. A bed filled with cushions and a throw looks better than without. If this is what you choose, go for a variety of fabrics but keep the colour scheme similar. You could just get a new headboard for the bed, as that can instantly change the look of the room. You could also think about getting some luxury bedroom furniture, like pretty bedside tables or a dresser.
For the pièce de résistance, adding a few glam touches will finish the room off. Mirrors are a great idea for a luxury room. They also help to reflect the light, making the room seem bigger and brighter. You could get a sheepskin rug or get some ornate looking vases. Flowers, fresh or fake, always make a room light brighter and more luxurious too.
