There are the shoes that we buy, and we almost live in them. They are so comfortable it is like a miracle that you have been blessed with the perfect shoes. Then, there are ones that we buy that are beautiful to look at; in fact, they are stunning, and you had to have them… but they remain in the closet, or the box – FOREVER.
And even if you have a range of shoes, you might feel like you still don’t have any shoes! It is the classic ‘nothing to wear’ but for your feet.

So, if you need to have 5 styles of shoes ready at all times, here they are.
Ballet Flats
They might just be the bread and butter of everyone’s shoes. They are super versatile and go with pretty much anything you have. The great thing about them is that if you opt for a more high-end pair, they come with little design details and are built to last. Black is obviously the best in terms of color choice, but a tan pair holds it’s own too. Choose a thicker sole so that you know they are going to last longer than 3 wears.
Sneakers
This will depend a lot on your personal style, but a plain pair of white sneakers can work with a lot of your casual wear. But, you can edge up a slick office look when you marry it up with a pair of white sneakers. To get the best out of your new trainers, pick up a discount online, or check out the Footasylum sale. If you struggle for a way to wear white trainers, you can opt for a tailored or well-cut (cheaper) suit or co-ord, or the classic white tee and faded mom jeans.
It tends to look a little more preppy and a little less business casual, but it’s super cute whatever way you slice it.
Ankle Boots
The ultimate in boots is the Chelsea boot. They are quick to put on as you head out the door and tend to be hard-wearing too. Chelsea boots and skinny jeans are best friends, so throw a white shirt in the mix, and you’re done for the day.
However, they are a great option when you want to wear a pretty tea dress, but don’t want to be too feminine with it – add a biker jacket for extra attitude.
Points
Not everyone loves the pointed heel, so you can skip those extra 6 inches of height if you want to – and just go for the shape. They are a bit of a power shoe, and if you aren’t used to the tip, you should take it easy the first few trial wears. If you want to bring a heel into the mix, aiming for around 3 inches will give you lift but without the risk of ankle wobble or excruciating feet.
Sandals
They don’t get to go on very many outings – depending on where you live. But a dainty pair of sandals can really let your feet breathe in the summer. Try to get something in soft leather or material that isn’t going to rub your heels on those warm days.
And that’s it.
Those are the five pairs of shoes that you will ever need, simple and effortless.
And double points if when you find your perfect pair, you buy two to for when the first pair have to say goodbye.
