Daniel is a huge music and dance fan, he just can’t help himself whenever he hears music he just has to bop along. We were sent the Fisher Price bright beats dance and learn dance mat to try and we couldn’t wait to give it a go. Here we are unboxing it and getting our groove on.
As you can see it was a success! Once you click the little man on here’s there to stay. It folds up nicely when you want to put it away. There are 2 ways to play:
1. Move & Play – Bat at BeatBo (little man) or press any button on the base to activate learning content and interactive light shows all over the mat.
2. Dance & Learn – Phrases direct baby to move to different colour sections of the mat. When baby gets it right and crosses the motion sensor, they’re rewarded with songs, phrases & lights!
The four colour sections teach something new – the blue section teaches all about the alphabet; the red section teaches number 1 to 10; the green section leads the way to dance; and the yellow section is where learning fun takes “shape”
How does the dance mat help your child?
Action reaction activities with rewards (bat-at BeatBo, interact with buttons, break the beam) introduce baby to cause and effect as they discover how to activate the lights and sounds.
GROSS MOTOR SKILLS
Lights, music, speech, and sung songs encourage baby to dance, crawl around the mat, and get up and dance.
Encourages listening skills as toddlers listen to the music and speech and follow the prompts and get too rewarded.
Teaches ABCs, numbers, colours, shapes and dance moves. The bright colours, music, lights and sounds help give developing senses a boost.
We had great fun playing with the dance mat, you can have the chance to win one too, by entering the Fisher Price competition over on Facebook. Enter via this link.
Disclosure: we were gifted a dance mat for the purposes of this post, all opinions are my own.
