If you’re one of the many people out there who are blogging for profit and who think of blogging as much more than just a hobby, you should know that there are always more things you could be doing! Many of today’s popular influencers started out with blogs but have moved beyond to new ventures – increasing their income and status by huge margins. If you want to improve your online visibility and start earning more, then consider one or all of the following options:
Social media pages
If you haven’t done so already, start a Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram account for your blog. If you want, you can have these as work accounts and keep private ones separate, which might suit you better if you’d rather only have friends and family members see certain things. Ideally, you should try to keep the same name for your social media pages as your blog. So, for example, if your blog name is “PleaseDon’tStopTheBlogging,” keep this name for all accounts so that fans can easily find you.
You can post your fresh blog entries to your social media pages, too, which means followers can instantly tell when you have something new online. This would be bolstered by a solid email marketing campaign, in which you urge readers to subscribe for bonus features and even the chance to win prizes. You can use special software to complete your email marketing tasks successfully, quickly and easily.
It seems like everyone has a podcast these days! It’s easy to see why, however, as podcasting is relatively easy and inexpensive. All you need is good podcasting equipment and some audio editing knowledge, but once this is done, you can record and upload a podcast every week to platforms such as iTunes, SoundCloud, Stitcher, and Player.fm. You can discuss topics more in-depth than on your blog, and have the chance to show followers your voice and personality. Many presenters monetize their podcasts by reading adverts before the show for things like mattresses, clothing, cleaning services, and even apps.
Sell merchandise or use Patreon
These days, many bloggers and influencers are unashamedly promoting their own online store to sell merchandise or even handmade creations. And why not? They’ve worked hard to gain followers, and if they want to sell a T-shirt or mug, then I say go for it! Patreon is also becoming very commonplace, as fans are becoming aware that if they want to keep reading blogs or seeing pictures and videos from their favourite online personalities, they might need to support them on Patreon to do so.
Finally, if you do so much writing – be it parenting tips, self-help guides, or even niche subjects that not many people know about – you could even think about writing a book. Writing and eventually publishing an ebook might be easier than you think, as this is a great idea for any blogger who already has a good fan base but wishes to expand their reach.
