Hello Everyone,
I think I can now call myself an expert on tap safety for children. Why? My very first review for this blog was the Tappy safety toy, who still enjoys bathtime with us, and now I have been asked to review the taphat by Dalu – they are very different in techniques but offer a similar solution. The taphat is a cushion that goes around your taps and sits snug on them. It comes with Velcro straps you can adjust to fit. I’m not sure how it would work for a single mixer tap, but mine are separate and it fitted really well.

The taphat appears to be made of foam and board with a waterproof cover and velcro attachments. I must admit to being a bit dubious that it would withstand Daniel The Destroyer, our 13 month old. He gave it a look, hit it a couple of times and gave it a tug, but it stayed on amazingly! So far so good. I would say the only downside is that it’s rather large, so when you want to have a bath and take it off, you have to find somewhere for it. I’ve been leaving it on though to store it. On the whole, if you’re looking for something to keep your little one safely away from the hot tap and banging themselves on the taps, it works really well. At £9.99 plus P&P, it’s reasonably priced. If you’d like to try it yourself, you can purchase direct from the company or buy it from amazon.
