An evening with cocktails, friends, getting my lashes and nails done – I was not going to turn that down even if I did have to pay for my train ticket! So off I went to the Soho Hotel in London to try and fit in with the fashionistas and journalists and Jess Wright from TOWIE, in honour of KISS Salon Acrylic Nails, KISS Blooming Lashes & imPRESS Nails. Follow them on Twitter for updates. I don’t watch TOWIE so I didn’t know anything about her except what she looked like (Thank you Google). Turns out she’s beautiful and really nice, she stayed the whole time and was happy to be photographed, chatted to and answered any of our questions. Jess Wright is the new Brand Ambassador for KISS, here’s what she has to say about them,
“KISS Nails, KISS Lashes and imPRESS Nails are my absolute beauty bag musthaves for any occasion! I love that I can use them when I’m on the go and within seconds, which is perfect with my schedule. Not only do they look stunning in whichever style you choose, but they give the perfect salon finish which I love! I’m SO happy to be part of such an incredible and fabulous brand.”

There were bizarrely no cocktails but there was wine, diet coke and canapès. After going in and milling around, I met up with my friends Kate from The Less Refined Mind, Franca from A Moment with Franca and Vicky from Being Tillys Mummy and we had a great time. We were encouraged to get our nails done, either glued on or pressed on. I went for glue because I wanted them to last a bit longer and I picked out some bling-y nails, something I wouldn’t normally go for but I figured, why not?!

They went on smoothly – I could no longer operate my phone with ease, but hey they look great! I adapted over the next few days. They had a nice shape to them. One of them wasn’t quite the right size and was off by the next morning, but I replaced it with one of the others left over in the kit – choosing the right size is important. It was easy enough to do myself with the glue – it’s a bit like superglue! Then it was time for lashes. I’ve tried false lashes before but I find them difficult to apply myself and I often look like a clown or a drag queen so I was keen for some advice. The lovely make up artist, Georgia, had some tips for me which I shall pass on to you now:
Tips for applying false eyelashes

With these tips I’m now able to make a half decent attempt myself and they look great. We all felt like a million dollars once we had our nails and lashes on. I loved the look of them, they felt funny at first but then I got used to them. They’re nice and light. I’ve put them on myself since and it was fiddly, but it’s gone better than previous attempts and everyone I met said they looked good. I’ll never be one of those fully made up every day women, but when I’m going somewhere, they’re in my kit. You can reuse them too as many times as you like.

The nails were removed a few days later (before my night shift!) by soaking them in acetone. Here’s a few more pictures of us at the event and the hotel, which was lovely.

The ‘small’ bathroom

I’ve since worn the imPRESS nails for the MAD Blog awards and they stayed on and were very comfy. They went fab with my dress and made me feel extra glamorous.

They have so many shades and styles available so you’re bound to find something that suits. If you would like to get your hands on some KISS nails and lashes, they’re available now in boots, with the imPRESS nails being available in ASDA. I had so much in my goody bag I’ll never use it all, so here’s your chance to win a huge bundle of Nails and Lashes!
