I’m determined to do a city break this year and Liverpool is on my list. I love making bucket lists, it makes me research where we’re going to and you can discover some hidden gems. Who better to ask than natives and people who’ve been before? I asked my blogging community for their favourites, here’s what they said:
Nicola from Mummy to Dex recommends seeing the Iron men by Antony Gormley, a short drive outside Liverpool in her guide 25 things to do in Liverpool in the summer.
If shopping is your thing, Liverpool ONE has all you need, and this Summer they have a free Dinosaur’s unleashed experience to keep the kids entertained – you can bring the experience to life when you visit Liverpool ONE and collect points as you hatch dinosaurs from giant eggs within Liverpool ONE. Download the app via the app store or google play. You can then visit the feeding stations, Battle Arena and educational fact stops! Hatch your new prehistoric friends and watch their happiness levels grow as you feed and exercise them via a range of special augmented reality features. Daniel loves dinosaurs so this is perfect.
Michaela from adventures of a yorkshire mum shows us her Christmas guide for Liverpool if you’re going in the winter.
We love Sefton Park especially when the weather is nice. There’s a play area, waterfalls and there’s always something going on in the Palm House.
Jen from Just average Jen had a great day out at the Beatles Story with her son, you can’t visit Liverpool and not do something Beatles related!
We love the beach at New Brighton. It’s bizarre having a beach right next to the city, but it is very sandy (ideal for sandcastles) and there are many rockpools to explore. It is an ideal place for a picnic and a stroll along the seafront where you can also find a funfair, parkland and a nice playground (an essential for any day out with kids). For rainy days, there is even a soft play (‘Bubbles world of play’). A perfect family destination!
Raising Badgers recommends the Museum of Liverpool, see more on her blog here.
We loved the ferry across the Mersey 🙂Lauraleanne.com
My best friend went to Hope Uni in Liverpool. I used to visit as much as I could, and we’d go to Cream – so many amazing memories (and hangovers) from that club! Formby beach is my favourite place to visit these days. The dogs and the kids love it!girlsgospel.com
I grew up in North Liverpool and we love going back with the children to visit family! Our favourite place has to be Formby Beach and Squirrel reserve, perfect for a coastal walk on a sunny day or to explore the sand Dunes and the forest if you’re feeling more adventurous!mymummyspennies.com
Plenty to think about here, have you got anything you would add? I’m so excited for lots of city adventures.
