Creating the right environment for sleep: The perfect bed

As parents, it’s always important to get a long sleep every night – if your children let you. The last thing you want is a restless sleep when you have children to take care of! Sleep is made a lot easier when you have a bed that’s worth sleeping on. So, apart from a night nanny, here’s what you need to consider to create the perfect bed:

Bed Type

There are so many types of bed that you can buy these days, from metal framed beds to ones that lift up to reveal storage underneath. Creating the perfect bed starts with choosing the right type. There’s really no right or wrong answer here, different types suit different people depending on the style of your bedroom. Personally, my advice is simple – get a bed that’s strong and doesn’t creak. The problem with a lot of cheap wooden or metal frames is they can creak and squeak, and it’s super annoying. So, get one that won’t do this and has room underneath for storage so you can keep your bedroom tidy. After a few years of cheap beds, we went for a good quality divan bed with storage drawers.

Mattress

The mattress is probably the most important part of your bed. Do you get a soft one or hard one? Do you go for memory foam or not? There are lots of key questions to answer, but the main one is simply; do you feel comfy? You and your partner should try out mattresses in bed stores and see which one you both like. Then, you’ll be assured of something the two of you can sleep on without and restless nights.

Pillows

Most people underestimate the pillows on their bed. Did you know that good pillows can actually help you sleep better and be in less pain? It’s true, if you have pillows that support your head properly, they’ll reduce the chances of getting neck pain. There are companies like Plumeria Bay that sell really plush and comfy pillows that are great for your neck. So, think about comfort first, then think about amount and style. How many pillows do you really need? But if you really want more you can always buy wholesale pillow cases for pretty good prices. In truth, you only need one regular pillow per head. But, you can add style to your bed with throw pillows or small cushions. Organise them at the head of your bed when you’re not sleeping on it will make it look so much classier.

Duvet

Finally, we have your duvet, an essential feature of every bed. Ideally, you want something that’s nice and big and more than fits your bed. Is there a worse feeling that trying to get comfortable in bed with a duvet too small for it? You should also go for something that’s quite thick as it makes it more snuggly and comfortable!

With this advice, you’ll soon have a bed that helps you sleep for long hours and attack each day feeling refreshed. You should also apply this advice to your kid’s beds too so they can sleep better as well. Now, your whole family will be less grouchy as everyone is sleeping well every night. You’ll be amazed at the good things a nice bed can do for you and your family.
