Regatta Hiking Boots Review

Now that we have a dog, I go on daily walks in all weathers and I absolutely love it! The winter walks are my favourite, I have a nice warm coat that keeps me warm and dry so I don’t care if it’s raining or not and Archie certainly doesn’t mind – in fact, the muddier the better in his eyes. I prefer it when it’s less busy too.

Waterproof and comfortable footwear is a must and I’ve been in search of a new pair since my beloved old boots are on the way out. Our daily walk is around the woods near our house and the paths get pretty muddy. Regatta is a brand I know and love, so it is a pleasure to be working with them on this review.

I chose these grey and pink walking boots, they are called Holcombe mid walking boots in vivacious.

The hiking boots are completely waterproof and feature Isotex and Hydropel technology to prevent any water from getting in. There is a breathable membrane to keep your feet fresh on long walks. The footbed is moulded for extra comfort. I managed to sprain my ankle earlier in the year and since then I find I need extra ankle support, so the mid-rise on these boots support my ankle and prevent it from rolling again, which I worry about on uneven terrain.

I ordered a size 5, sometimes I am more of a 5.5 or 6, depending on the brand as I like the room to spread out as it were, but I have found that the size 5 is generous enough for me. If I had gone bigger then it would have been too big. I like the way they look and they go with anything I wear. I feel confident on my walks – the last thing you want to be worrying about is your footwear. They don’t need any ‘wearing in’ like some boots do, they have been comfortable from the first wear with no rubbing or chafing.

What is your favourite season for walking in?
