I was a huge care bear fan back in the day, before there was a cartoon. I still actually have an old hardback book called ‘Sweet dreams for Sally,’ featuring Grumpy bear, sunshine bear and of course, bedtime bear. I’ve sort of handed it down to the children but they’re not allowed to look at it themselves for fear of them damaging it. Sadly I don’t have my care bear toys anymore. I even had a birthday party with a care bear cake once.
Flair toys sent us a care bear care package, with a big share bear care bear, a mini share bear care bear in her pyjamas, some squishems care bears and some bits and pieces for a cosy night in. I reluctantly gave the care bear plush toys to Phoebe. Maybe they’ll give me a cuddle now and then.
Squishy toys seem to be all the rage at the moment, the little care bear Squishems are not the soft squishy bounce back type, they are more solid, but equally squishy. My 3 year old is inclined to throw them because to him they are like interesting shaped bouncy balls, but Phoebe is more sensible and loves sorting them out. She has put them in a little bag to keep them safe from Daniel the Destroyer.
The bigger sized plush bears are described as a medium sized plush, they come in all the character variations so you can collect them all. We have got Share bear, whose motto is of course about sharing, her tummy shows two lollipops – how sweet. They’re available at ASDA, Tesco, Amazon, and Debenhams. These lovable bears come in fun bright colours and soft huggable fabrics! Now featuring Care Bears Cousins Characters.
The Care Bears Cubs Plush retails at £7.99 from ASDA and Amazon. They come dressed for bedtime in belly badge matching pyjamas! Their small size makes them the perfect collectable gift for every Care Bears fan. Both the bears have the trademark heart button on their bottoms. They are both a good quality cuddly toy and they have taken pride of place in Phoebe’s bed. I’ve put the links below for you if you’d like your own Care bear plush or squishems. If you get one or you have one, show me your care bear pictures on Instagram and tag me @midwifeandlife.
