Summer is coming, there is no need for the perfect summer body, you already have a body that is fit for the job and let’s dress it to feel good for the warm season. I love the feel of grass and sand underneath my bare feet, hearing the children squealing with the hose in the garden and that particular exhaustion you get from being at the beach doing nothing all day. Those picnics by the lake and seagulls stealing your chips. Have I got you in the mood yet?
Summer is also the perfect time to experiment with bright and bold fashion choices. Here are some of my favourite holiday fashion inspiration ideas for this summer:
Maxi dresses
Maxi dresses are a classic summer staple that can be dressed up or down for any occasion. Look for dresses in bright colors, floral prints, or bold patterns to make a statement. I love floaty long dresses in paisley and contrasting prints that I can waft around in and it helps me feel cool. I can’t wear a dress without my anti-chafing shorts on underneath, I can’t be the only one, right? I love this dress below because it has built-in shorts. Genius.

Shorts and crop tops
For a more casual and playful look, pair high-waisted shorts with a crop top or tank top. Add some statement accessories like a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, an oversize shirt, or chunky jewelry to complete the look. The beauty of shorts is that although the name suggests they need to be short you can get away with all sorts of lengths and fits, even culottes count as shorts, at least I am counting it!
Jumpsuits
Jumpsuits are an effortless way to look chic and put-together while still staying comfortable in the summer heat. Look for jumpsuits in light and flowy fabrics, such as linen or cotton, in bold colors or prints. Just make sure you can get out of them easily for going to the bathroom.

Rompers
Rompers are a playful and fun alternative to dresses or jumpsuits. Look for rompers with fun patterns, such as tropical or animal prints, or opt for a solid-colored romper and accessorize with statement jewelry or a bold belt. Sometimes called playsuits, they are like a jumpsuit that have shorts instead of longer trousers, and they tend to look like you are wearing a skirt.

Swimwear as outerwear
For a more daring look, try incorporating swimwear into your outfits. A one-piece swimsuit can be paired with high-waisted pants or a skirt for a playful and unexpected look, or a bikini top with a shirt gives the look of ‘I’ve just got out of the swimming pool.’ Metallic bikinis are the ones to look out for this season, so grab them when you see them in the shops. They always make an outfit elevated. There are so many beautiful beach cover ups out there and if they are on the sheer side, pair them with swimwear even if you’re not going anywhere near the pool.

Statement sandals
Complete your summer look with a pair of statement sandals. Look for sandals with bold prints or textures, such as snakeskin or metallics, or opt for a brightly colored pair to add a pop of color to your outfit. I like to have a comfortable pair for every day and then a couple of fancy ones for the evenings when I’m on holiday.

Remember to have fun and experiment with different styles and patterns to find what works best for you. Embrace who you are and your body, it’s done a lot for you remember. Enjoy your summer and embrace your unique fashion sense!
